Green Producers Tool - Annual Report
Average Carbon Emissions from Scandinavian Cultural Productions 2022-2025
A new report from Green Producers Club (GPC) published on the 7th of January 2026, presents the most comprehensive overview to date of the climate footprint of cultural productions across Scandinavian Film and TV, Music Festivals, Performing Arts and Events.
Based on verified data from more than 300 productions registered in the Green Producers Tool (GPT) between 2022 and 2025, the report identifies transport as the single largest source of emissions across the sector.
For the first time, the report establishes benchmark figures that enable cultural organisations to compare their projects against Scandinavian averages and identify where emissions reductions can be achieved most effectively.

Measuring 20 Years of Øyafestivalen
We are excited to present the Historical Emissions Report 2005-2025, a first-of-its-kind project for a Green Producers Club member.
This report represents nearly two decades of climate accounting, meticulously systematised in the Green Producers Tool to identify long-term trends and structural successes. The result is a transparent benchmark for the entire cultural field.
Why this matters: The data confirms that meaningful reductions happen when operational changes meet strategic infrastructure. From the impressive 98% drop in energy emissions to the successful transition to a meat-free food court, the findings show that festivals can grow without a proportional increase in their carbon footprint.
A Toolbox for Others: We didn't just write this to document the past; we wrote it to strengthen future decision-making for festivals everywhere. We hope these findings provide the inspiration and practical knowledge needed to help our members move toward a more sustainable future.
