GreenProducersTool&TheNordicEcologicalStandard
The Nordic Ecological Standard (NES) is shaping the future of sustainable film, TV, and media production across the Nordic region. Developed as a unified framework by Nordic broadcasters, film institutes, and producers' associations, NES sets clear and rigorous benchmarks for the industry.
At Green Producers Club, we don't just support this movement, we have been actively involved in the development of NES from the very beginning. We back the standard 100% and are proud to offer one of the very few software tools that fully aligns with and is technically approved to meet its strict requirements.
What is NES?
The Nordic Ecological Standard (NES) is a unified framework designed to measure, report, and reduce the environmental footprint of audiovisual productions. It applies to all stages of production, from pre-production to post-production, whether filming takes place in the Nordics or abroad.
The standard consists of both mandatory and target requirements, divided into six core categories:
1. General Requirements
2. Personnel and Material Transport
3. Energy Use
4. Accommodation and Catering
5. Use of Materials
6. Biodiversity
How to Use Green Producers Tool for NES Compliance
Navigating new standards can feel complex, but Green Producers Tool is custom-built to make NES compliance seamless across all six categories. Because our tool is fully approved in accordance with the GHG Protocol (Greenhouse Gas Protocol), you can trust that your data holds the highest international standard.
With our tool, you can effortlessly handle the two core pillars required to achieve the standard:
- Climate Budgeting: Plan your production with sustainability in mind. Create accurate, predictive climate budgets before cameras roll to map out transport, energy, and material choices, identifying carbon hotspots early.
- Climate Reporting: When production wraps, generate comprehensive, audit-ready climate reports that document your actual footprint and satisfy the documentation requirements of the NES.
Let’s Build a Sustainable Future Together
